I just finished it last night, and looked online for the sequel today. You can't leave that story finished with "Give us a kiss". I think the fact that a network paid you a healthy compliment by even considering, let alone filming a pilot for a tv series based on the book should be enough motivation to not only do a sequel, but perhaps even develop a series of books with the same characters.
